Nucleating Agent
GSI Europe is the exclusive distributor of the Takemoto Oil&Fat Co., Ltd. nucleating agent for PLA: LAK-301. Developed to further sustainability and usability of PLA, an otherwise brittle alternative to crude oil based polyolefines, this additive adds physical strength to the final product as well as shortened cycle times in the production with PLA: It prevents heat-related physical distortion in the cooling process by stabilizing the PLA already at higher temperatures.
Plasticizer
GSI Europe is the exclusive distributor of the Takemoto Oil&Fat Co., Ltd. plasticizer for PLA Z-350. Developed to further sustainability and usability of PLA, an otherwise brittle alternative to crude oil based polyolefines, this additive adds flexibility and durability to the final product and opens up a whole new area for PLA to be used in. Instead of focusing only on rigid applications, a PLA that has been modified with this plasticizer could even be used in film and packaging.
